Was doing some housekeeping in my computer -- yup the digital kind not the backbreaking type -- moving some files from F:\ to C:\, defragmentating the system etc (am trying to create space to install Linux yeah), when suddenly this word document caught my eye, M4_edited.doc.
Hmm... what's that? only way to find out is to double click it. Turned out it was my wife's document from her work. Not that i am a busybody, but i decided to have a look, I had to ascertain if this file was worth keeping what, lame i know. Boy was i blown away, i finished at the first paragraph and that was it. Why? Cos i simply couldn't decipher the abbreviations contained in it no point reading, things like OOW, PPE, SMG, MEP, DED, CHA(RN), OM33, ...... my god no need for 128-bit secure encryption lah, RSN is doing a good job keeping the info secure by constantly churning out tons of abbreviations and acronyms.
Then i realised my job is just as bad. What do i do? Well in one sentence, "I am using ANN, SVM, RBF, MLP and RSM for SID". That's short for "I am using Artificial Neural Networks, Support Vector Machine, Radial Basis Functions, Multilayer Perceptron and Response Surface Method for System Identification." hahaha the wonders of abbreviations. Cannot live without them, but it's all mumbo jumbo if you're not in the loop.
okay enough of ranting. gtg. oh if you're wondering what "WSMA" stands for, it's my abbreviation for "Why So Many Abbreviations." Now you know. As for the word documents, i have decided to keep it, maybe it's important, only the RSN personnel knows.
